Point Loma Community Info
The four-mile peninsula known as Pt. Loma guards the entrance to San Diego Bay. Pt. Loma features one of the most iconic landmarks in California: the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, which was first lit in 1855. Pt. Loma was originally home to a robust fishing community and still maintains that heritage with its yacht clubs and sports fishing facilities. A unique mix of residential neighborhoods dating from the early 1900’s, include La Playa with its bay front homes and private docks. Whether biking, surfing, sailing or just relaxing on one of its many beaches, Pt. Loma affords great access to outdoor living.
Neighborhood trivia: The San Diego Yacht Club, home to America’s Cup (1988-1995) is one of three yacht clubs in this community.
